Today, we're simply going to get our hearts, minds and spirits ready for the next 30 days of prayer together.
Have a look at your plans for this month, and make sure you set aside some special time in your schedule to encounter Jesus in prayer.
Next, choose where you’re going to meet God every day. It should be a place where you can let go of distractions and focus entirely on connecting with God.
Get a journal and a pen to write down your prayers and reflections.
And, finally, think of a friend who could join you in this challenge.
As inspiration for this challenge, we share a couple of quotes on prayer:
“Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a friend.” (Steps to Christ, p. 93)
“Inside the Tent of Meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.” (Exodus 33:11 NLT)
It's simply mind-blowing to think that we have access to God, the Creator of the whole universe, our Saviour and Redeemer, thanks to prayer. And He longs for us to connect with Him, like Moses did, face to face, "as one speaks to a friend."
That's the kind of God we serve.
